    ::Sigh::

So, currently, we have a fake Christmas tree that's, like, 4.5 feet tall.  I think.  We usually have it shoved in a corner standing on an end table to give the illusion of height.  It doesn't really work.  I really really really want a new tree, but we haven't ever had the room for anything larger.  And Levi gave me the grouchy face whenever I brought it up.

I have many ornaments.  So many ornaments that they end up being squished on the tree or not hung up at all.  Leaving ornaments in their boxes or tissue paper makes me sad.  And I buy more every year.

    And I want these:

Attached is a pic of Levi and the tree in 2004.  Don't they both look sad?

    Halloween... food.

    From Pillsbury.

    • This looks gross.
    • I'd totally love biting the heads off of these.
    • This also looks gross, but the little pea eyes kind of make me giggle.

    It's a wonder...

That my sister and I aren't a LOT more weird than we are... I remember all of this video, and I'm sure that she does too.

    Barnes & Barnes: Fish Heads

Great googly moogly... Why did my parents let me watch weird stuff like that?

Also, I'm having a lot of fun with this site tonight.

    Two fun links...

    Desdemona Festival

I am all kinds of freckly (my arms and face), kind of tan (my arms) and kind of sunburned (my face, argh!) after spending the hot and sweaty weekend at Desdemona Festival!  Can you find me in the first pic on this page?  Yeah, ignore the chin.  And doesn't Levi look cute?

I'll get my own pics up once I decide which ones I like best.

Good grief, I suck at updating...

Not that anyone really reads this, right?  But, I'll try anyway.

Ben Lee was awesome.  So good and great with the crowd.  It was kind of rainy and gross, but it cleared up and a rainbow came out.  I got to meet him briefly after the show and got a signed cd.

If he ever comes near where I'm living again, I will certainly be there.  :)

Rocking on Walnut - Swarthy Band

On 6/9, I met Levi downtown at the CAC for Rocking on Walnut.  The Swarthy Band was playing.  AND, there was a free arts table where you could decorate/design a CAC t-shirt.

Now, what does one do, exactly, with such a shirt after they have gel (puffy?) painted it?  And, is it weird that I signed it?

I did two more, too, after the first.  One for a friend of Levi's, Jenny, and one for Mr. Swarthy himself.  I didn't get pictures of those, though.

    May 27th, 2006 - Vow Renewal

Last weekend, my mom and I went to Indianapolis to celebrate my grandparents' 25th wedding anniversary and vow renewal.  Pics are up from that visit, and here's links to videos:

    Vow Renewal

    Better Than Ezra, too!

I just ordered tickets to Better Than Ezra on July 15th, too!  The show's going to be outside of McFaddens, so it's probably going to be hotter than hell.  Last year, we saw Violent Femmes & Moth at this event, though, and it wasn't so bad.  Keep your fingers that crossed that there will be a nice breeze for me.

I'm going to see Ben Lee!

I'm going to see Ben Lee on Wednesday, June 7th!  He's opening for Nickel Creek, who I have never heard of, but checked out today.  I think I'll like them, too.  The show is at Moonlight Gardens, which is a venue I've never been to before.  That should be fun a fun parking experience.

Anyone that knows my music tastes well knows that I've loved Ben Lee's music since Glenda bought Grandpaw Would after hearing some song (Pop Queen?) on a CMJ.  We copied it to a cassette and that tape was a staple for the car for years!  Everybody would sing along.  :)  It's too bad Glennie's in stupid China because she'd be the perfect date for this show.

I've been listening to Awake is the New Sleep quite a bit lately.  It's an awesome album and I think it's probably the best yet from this talented guy.  I've also been reading his blog and he just seems like such a cool guy.  Very spiritual, but in a do your own thing kind of way. There's a good artical about him in CityBeat this week, too.

Do I sound horribly fan girly and dorky?  I was just teasing my mom about assuming things about star personalities. She was talking about Paul Simon.  Heh.

    Anyway... I'm pretty excited.

    Panarainbow

This is what the view from my front door was Tuesday night.  Awesome, huh?
    5/9/2006

    I kind of love these...

And, I kind of want to make my very own customized playing cards.  I just can't decide what image to use.

Also, can someone buy me a Chattahoochee pencil, please?

This is just one of the...

two Levi's t-shirts that I have now.  Hee!

More videos where I sound like a dork!

Last weekend, Levi and I rented this cabin just outside of Nashville, Indiana in Brown County.  It was quite woody and cabin-like.

And it came with an outside dog and cat!  I think this is hilarious and perfect.  To hear me sounding like the dorkiest Muppet ever, check out the videos:

    I'm scared.

Since I got up this morning, I've had the front of my hair pulled up into a pigtail on each side of my head.

I just know taking them down is going to hurt.  So, I'm putting it off.

Men probably won't understand this pain, but every girl out there will remember the feeling.
    3/11/2006

    I really suck at updates.

So, what have I done since the second?  Yeah...

Well, I met Levi at Southgate House last Saturday.  We were there to see The Swarthy Band (go be their friend!) and to hang with a few of Levi's friends.  And some crazy Canadians.  Go Canada!

Levi and I saw Underworld Evolution at the cheapo theater.  I fell asleep.

Two friends and I went to Go Bananas last night.  We saw this guy and this guy.  And had lots to drink.  Oy.  It was a really good time, though.

Today, another two friends and I got to leave work at three.  We spent the next two hours cruising scrapbook supplies and, oddly, Kroger.  Pregnant girls picking out snacks are VERY funny.

I only spent about $30, total, which makes me wonder if I'm coming down with something.

After that, I just came home.  Levi went out and had an awesome time at the Belgian beer tasting at Jungle Jim's.

I can't quit playing with this site.  I have very bouncy music playing, too.  Hee!

Tomorrow, we're seeing Wicked downtown at the Aronoff Center.  Everyone says that it's an awesome show, so I'm excited!  And then I'm going to see The Chippendales w/the same girlfriends I went out with last night.

I should really get to bed.

Things I did that I forgot to write about...

    1. I saw male strippers do a sort of "revue" at a bar in Milford, OH on 2/17.
    2. The next day, my husband and I went to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  It was the best show, yet, this season. No Donny Osmond, though.
    3. Last weekend, we went to Evansville, IN to visit my dad for his birthday.  He's hyper.  My MIL's birthday was this week, so it was a good two-for visit.  Funny things that happened in Evansville:
      • My mom trying to say something was gripping or riveting.  But it came out grippeting.  Which is funny.  Say it!
      • My grandpa (85 & kind of deaf) told a story about his dog playing in the backyard with a rabbit head.  No body.  What made this funny was that we were having breakfast in a crowded restaurant.  And he talks REALLY loud.
    4. We came home earlier than usual on Sunday because I wanted to see Of Montreal that night.  And we did!  It was a great show, even though the average fan's age seems to be quite a bit younger than my 27 years.  Oh, and can someone remember to tell me to take my camera to these things?  Please?  I got a high five from Robert Schneider and it would have been a fun picture to get.

I was really tired on Monday, though.  I'm too old for staying out on a work night.

Which I could have, and probably would have tonight, but totally forgot until just now that my friend's band is playing at a bar by UC.  Ah, well.

    "It's short... and really highlighted."

That's what Levi said about my new cut and color.

Now, you tell me that it's fierce and hot and really not mom hair.  Click to enlarge.
